When Spring and Summer got here I got soo busy that I almost abandoned blogging all together. So sad!! But I still check my blog all the time and so much happens that I think, hey I need to blog about that, but I just don't. Another So Sad!!
Here's a quick update, well I hope it's quick, lol.
In March we moved again. This time to a three bedroom townhouse. I LOVE everything about my new place. Nice neighbors who don't stink up my house with their pot smoke. A backyard for Dega to play in which backs up against an even cooler place for Dega to play, A PARK!!! I have room to have all my scrapbook stuff set up and accessible. It's not shoved in totes any more. And my laundry room is to die for huge!
So other than our nice new place I have gotten into my hobby soo much more. I joined a scrapbook group on CafeMom.com and I spend way too much time in there. So much so that this passed week I was made assistant admin. Way cool! But it eats up all my free time away from the kids so that's most likely why I have stopped blogging soo much.
This summer Dega turned THREE!!! She is quickly going from baby to toddler to preschooler before my eyes and it is so sad some days. She loves to sing and dance to Mama Mia and The Little Mermaid almost daily.
My lil baby boy is no longer little. He is almost 8 months old and already has four teeth and is crawling everywhere. This past week he has learned how to pull himself up on things and climb the stairs. Although he only gets about two stairs before he is stopped.
And that pretty much sums it up. Tomorrow I will do an update in picture form because everyone loves pictures!

Bristol's first trip to the park
So a couple weeks ago when we were in the process of moving we had a really nice day so we decided to take a trip to the park. Talladega was starting to get cabin fever so I figure it would be a good time to get out and let her run and get Bristol out and some sunshine.
We decided since the new house has a park right in our back yard we would go the Park Discovery. Plus they have awesome swings and tons of slides that Dega loves.
So when we got there I decided to see how Bristol liked the swings.
Then Talladega wanted to swing with her brother so we let them swing together for a bit.
And then let Dega try out the red swings all by herself.
Then after that Bristol got a bit tired and hungry. So while Bristol and I hung out on this bench Dega and Daddy went off to go play.
This is what Dega did while I was stuck on the bench...
All in all I think Talladega had tons of fun and it definitely was a new experience for Bristol.

The Baby Gate
When we lived in Salem we had stairs for the first time. With a toddler we were going to need a baby gate. My mom and I went to the store and she picked us out this really nice one that has a door on it and opens up so we wouldn't have to climb over it since I happen to be vertically challenged (short). It was probably the most expensive one and had lost of hot selling points. It only has vertical bars so kids can't climb over it and lots of cool stuff.
When we moved back to Utah I put this baby gate at the entrance to my laundry room/pantry to keep her from getting into all the food. She has a habit of getting into cereal and that sorta stuff, just like every 2 year old I'm sure.
So not too long ago she figured out a new trick. She realized that Mommy keeps all the candy in the laundry room. And since Dega has discovered stools I keep all of them in there too.
Well she has once again proved how determined she really is.

2 months already!!
On February 19th it was time again for Bristol's Well Check. This time he was going to have to get shots. I was a lil nervous for how Dega would react to them making him cry, but she turned out to be a trooper.
When we got there they weighed him and measured him. He weighed 12 pounds 2 ounces and was 22 3/4 inches long. He is getting quite heavy. But everyone keeps telling me that's because he's a boy.
While they were weighing him Josh asked the nurse about getting Dega's ears pierced. She had been asking to wear my earrings lately so we thought we could consider it and I personally was thinking maybe when she turns three. The nurse brought in the earring choices they have and Dega immediately decided she wanted stars.
The nurse said she could hold them until we decided we were going to get it done. Then the doctor came in and checked Bristol to make sure he wasn't broken or whatever it is they look for. This time Bristol even giggled for the doctor. My kids are like polar opposites, I tell ya.
Then we went over questions and we didn't really have any. Pretty much been through this stuff before. Then Josh asked how much they charge for ear piercing. They told us it was only $15 and I said ok we would get it done at Dega's check up in July. Well while they gave Bristol his shot Josh decided he wanted two screaming kids and told them that we would go ahead and get her ears done then.
So while I waited for them to come back with the earrings and stuff I told Dega what was gonna happen and she was excited. I also nursed Bristol to get him calmed down. So then Dega sat on the table and they marked her ears. That's when she started getting nervous. I mean, there was a stranger touching her. So she started asking me what they were doing. So I told her they were going to pierce her ears. She just kept repeating "Mommy, what is she doing?"
"Uhh she's piercing your ears Dega."
I waited for the cries to come and.... Nothing. Not a peep. Just, "Mommy what are they doing?"
Are you kidding me kid? She never cried. They did the second one and then I took her to the bathroom to show her her new pretties. She was excited to have stars and had all the nurses and doctors flabbergasted and talking about how awesome she was. They couldn't believe she didn't even flinch. The said she did better than some 14 year olds who come in and get their ears pierced. Well, what can we say? She's a rockstar.
And since once again Bristol is another month older we took his picture with the Care Bear. He seriously looks like he has doubled in size.

One Month Old
*Again another blog from myspace, just trying to get this blog up to date and then I can start writing new ones.*
So we took Bristol in for his well check today. It was a challenge for me to try and get two kids, plus myself dressed and presentable by 10:30 a.m. But I guess that's the only appointment they had available.
We got there and they weighed and measured him while I sat and explained to Dega what they were doing so she didn't freak out. She actually did much better than I expected her to. She has never been a fan of doctors and has cried through all of her well checks so far.
Bristol now weighs 9 lbs. 11 oz. and is 21.75 inches long. He is in about the 50th percentile range so that is good. He weight has jumped a bunch so that is good. The only negative is he is still a bit jaundice-y. But the pediatrician says that it is common in breastfed babies and if it is still there by his 2 month check then they might run some tests. I am very glad I have a breast milk friendly doctor. Bristol didn't even cry the whole time, he just is a very laid back baby.
Dega, on the other hand, got nervous when we let the nurse and the doctor touch and hold her Bristol. But I told her that they have to check and make sure he is ok and healthy. She seemed to be fine with that answer. Although I don't think she would have liked it if it was her check up. But I still 6 1/2 months to prepare her for that.
Then on the car ride home Bristol started crying. Dega quickly informed me he was crying. I just told her yea I can hear him since I couldn't do much about it driving down the highway. So Dega started singing him "Twinkle Twinkle Little Star" and "Are You Sleeping?" It was soo cute and he actually stopped crying. She can be such a good big sister at times.
Now for some pictures. When Dega was little Susan gave me a good idea to take a picture of her every month next to the same stuffed animal. Well I never got around to getting a stuffed animal for her, but I did take her picture every month. Well I have decided to use this idea for Baby Bristol. I made up lil cards that say how many months he is and the date on them and stick them in the picture. Then later on I can put the lil card in the scrap book on the page with the pictures. These are what we got for his first month.

Birth Story ~Bristol Joshua Wilcox~
*For those that read my Myspace blogs, you may have already read this. There are a few changes and pictures added. And for those readying this now, I wrote this back in December right after Bristol was born*
So Wednesday (December 17th) morning I woke up at 4 a.m. because I was anxious and couldn't sleep. I still had a couple hours so I relaxed in the tub and went over everything in my head making sure that everything was ready. I had a scheduled induction because of the gestational diabetes. I was 39 weeks and 3 days along.
Finally Josh and I left and arrived at the hospital at 7:30 am. We visited with Dr. Sanders and then we got all set up in our room. So it turns out the Valley View Medical Center has changed things in the two and a half years since I had Dega. In labor and delivery anyhow. So all the nurses work 12 hour shifts and each nurse has one patient on the delivery side. I think their is only one nurse on the post partum side. So anyways I got all set up with my nurse Michelle. Who was fabulous. For those that have heard my birth story from Dega know that I didn't have an enjoyable experience, to say the least.
By 8:00 a.m. I had my IV all hooked up and the pitocin was started around 8:30. Once the IV was started I could feel the contractions and I really wasn't liking it so I went ahead and got some pain meds through my IV around 9:30. By this time we had already called my mom to see when she was heading up to the hospital because I missed my Dega Bug. While getting all set up I informed my doctor and nurses that I really wanted to have the baby before 8:00 p.m. because Criminal Minds came on at that time and I am an avid fan of that show. They all laughed and my doctor said he figured we might even be finished before lunch.
I was only really dilated to 4 1/2 and still 80%. Well around 11:30ish I decided to get my epidural. It didn't really take effect so while Steve (the epi guy) went to give another epidural we waited and he was going to come back and fix mine and hopefully it would work. While we were waiting my mom left and my so did my nurse. She had to leave for like an hour and Kari took over for her. Well while Kari was there my doctor showed up to break my water.
By this time (like 12:30ish)I was starting to get whiny because it hurt and I wanted my epidural to work. Plus I had to pee, but wasn't able to get up yet. So Dr. Sanders decided to go ahead and break my water and let Kari put in my catheter. So they got all that done.
Well once they broke my water it was literally one contraction on top of the next. And there for a minute Steve was able to re-position my epidural. I think I started to feel it take effect but because the contractions were soo close it didn't have a chance to actually work. So the next thing I know they are saying something about I am ready to push and getting all the equipment uncovered. Michelle had just barely made it back by this time. So it must have been an hour. I motioned to Josh to call my mom and have her come back to the hospital so they could be there when Bristol was born. That was 1:39 pm.
They put my legs in the stirrups and Josh was on one side and the nurses on the other and Dr. Sanders in catching position. Everyone was telling me I needed to push now and it would be quick.
Hell I was still whining waiting for my epidural to work. I was NOT going to push. Okay so they stuck my legs int eh stirrups and I figure I have no choice. Either get the pain over with and push or just prolong it and refuse. As if that would help anyone.
I look over and see an extra guy in the room. Very random I think, then I realize he is waiting for baby to check his lungs and what not. My next thought was fine, I don't want to make this guy wait all day and I turn back to my group of 4 supporters and just start pushing when they tell me. Of course I could feel the contractions, but I just didn't want to push. I was still not sure I was ready to have this baby here. I am not quite sure how many pushes it was exactly, but maybe like 6 to 9. And then I had a baby. He was born at 1:49p.m.
Yeah all that last little bit was in like 10 minutes. Josh got to cut the cord and Dr. Sanders handed me this warm slimy little baby covered in white stuff. He was precious, but I was still kinda waiting for someone to take him to be cleaned. While I sat there just staring at my little boy and just being in the moment Dr. Sanders delivered the placenta and gave me my all of ONE stitch. Seriously just 1. Awesome. I really didn't even feel him stitch me up. So they all went about their business cleaning up and I just got to hold my baby. Josh was right there and on the other side the strange man from the corner had come forward and just put a little hose of oxygen blowing by Bristol's face. He wasn't there that long and honestly I don't even remember him leaving or ever saying anything.
Shortly after my mom got there and Dega was so excited to see Bristol. Right away she just started telling everyone that's Britsol. You couldn't call him a baby, he's just Bristol to her. So while we nursed the little man Josh made his phone calls and texts (sorry if anyone didn't get a call or text, it was kinda crazy) and my mom called the store to let them all know.
Then they decided to weigh and measure him after a bit.
He weighed 7 pounds 6 ounces and was 19 inches long. Just one pound more than Talladega and the same length.
Dega was right at the nurses feet and stayed as close to Bristol as she could be.
After a while everyone had held him and Josh and the nurse took the baby to go get cleaned up and what a surprise, my epidural had kicked in.
My mom and Dega went home because it had been snowing all day and it was getting later and my mom didn't want to drive on icy roads. So by 5 we were in our recovery/ post partum room and that's when I realized we had gotten NO pictures. Ugh.
The rest of the night went awesome really baby stayed in our room until about 12:30 when he had nursed for the last time that night I was finally convinced to get a little sleep.
The next morning before we went home Josh went to the house and brought Dega back to the hospital so she could spend the morning with us until we were released from the hospital. Which was exactly 24 hours after Bristol was born.

Getting Started on BlogSpot
Well I decided that I would join in and start up another blog. One other than my Myspace. I have to have some way to update all the family and what better way? Just try not to get too annoyed with my millions of posts. Now I just have to figure out this whole thing. I am gonna post a few of my past blogs from Myspace over here so that others can read them and add pictures to them so they are cool and stuff.
